Summer Solstice Concerts. Additional information.

official poster

We are happy to meet you this saturday in the landscape behind the Turnov City at Summer Solstice Concerts! Anyway, do not expect big stage or amplified sound! Our stage is nature itself. Our event will be fragile as the nature around us is.  Our aim is not to steal the space from the country but contrary to harmonise ourselves with the space, get the inspiration, peace and inner power, which people historically drew from being in the nature especially during the summer solstice period. This event is for those who desire to leave the noise and agresivity of the modern world at least for a while…

You will find the schedule of the event on the official poster on the top of this post and at the right column “Upcoming events” of this web page.

Painting workshop will be under patronate of great Czech academic painter Vladimír Véla, who will coordinate you during painting on canvas in the open space.

We reccomend to bring a blanket for sitting on the ground, also something to grill at fire, which will burn during the time between the “Talks about the nature” and an evening concert.

We are looking forward to see you!

Jana Kubánková would like to invite you to the Czech premiere of the Graal theatre – a violin concerto composed by great woman – finnish composer Kaija Saariaho. The performance will be held on 4th of June in Prague. Jana will be accompanied by the Berg orchestra.

Kaija Saariaho

This violin concerto was dedicated to famous violinist Gidon Kremer by Kaija Saariaho. No wonder that the composition is very difficult and expects high standart of both technical skills and expression from performer. Graal theatre is beautiful composition, colourful in sound, and expresses woman “archetypal earthy” and peaceful power in lyrical parts. This composition gets the inspiration from the book by Jacques Roubaud.

Come and let yourself be spent by magical atmosphere of the old legend and experience violin concerto different way!

When does the end start?

When president attacks public media, when this same person calls demonstrated students “poor souls”; when parliament is able to elect former communistic “policemen puncher” from Velvet demonstrations in 1989 to the head of the main control institution of the “General Inspection of the Safety Corps”; when the prime minister is being accepted while being criminally prosecuted and being former communist secret police agent; when the word democracy is used and abused by undemocratic politicians as a tool of manipulation against the democratic ones; when journalists are killed for revealing the truth; when foreign politics of democratic state deepen cooperation with undemocratic regimes; when communist politician can call others “democratic septic”; when people who disagree with political top is called enemy of democracy although the right to disagree is privilege of democracy; when the political top cares just of their own interests with no respect to state law, constitution and make an important decisions and interruptions in political apparatus although being in demission state; when political top divide the nation in implacable parts; when they transmit hate; when they twist clear terms to unusable words so that it is not possible to work with them and the truth is about to be lost; when the quotes of the most democratic icons of our political past are abused and twisted to the new context by undemocratic personalities so that they would be recognized as democrats…
…then the end starts. The end of democracy.
