Martin Hybler

MgA. Martin Hybler, Ph.D. (1977) is composer, arranger, conductor and piano improviser.

He studied composition and conducting at Prague Conservatory, then he gratuated from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. His dissertation on modern orchestra instrumentation was officially published. He enriched his education by research fellowships abroad, specifically at Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburk, and international composing classes ISA in austrian Mürzzuschlag.

Martin Hybler has written 42 opuses of contemporary music, including scores for symphonic orchestras, chamber music and solo works.

His compositions were performed at many international festivals such as Prague Spring, Klagenspuren Festival in Innsbruck, Prague Premieres, MusicOlomoc, Silk Sound Road in Biškek. His works were also played throughout Europe(Slovakia, England, France, Germany) and in the USA. His very last composition was specially written as commisioned work for The Prague Spring Competition. Hybler’s works were performed by eminent Czech groups and personalities such as Prague Philharmonia, conductor Jakub Hrůša, oboe player Vilém Veverka, ensemble Moens, Philharmonic Octet.

Hybler’s works can be found in publishing houses such as Triga, Musica Mundana Musikverlag, Baerenreiter, Schott. Martin also writes a very special instructive compositions for youth to lead young generation to music. These works are published via special edition of the Czech Radio Publishing.

In 2018 he started cooperating with the Gerhart-Hauptmann Theater in Zittau and Goerlitz, Germany – as pianist and arranger. Martin is also very popular arranger and conductor of crossover projects. He teaches at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Martin is a founding member of the initiative IMUZA.
